You may find yourself wondering what role foam rolling plays in preparing you for your workout. We have received multiple questions on the significance of foam rolling prior to working out. The simple answer is it loosens up the body’s muscles. Foam rolling is a method of self-massage, which works to release “knots” in the muscles. This decrease of tension can relieve pain (including knee, back and shoulder) as well as improve flexibility and posture for various exercises, such as squats and deadlifts. Below, we will take a look at the importance of foam rolling and a dynamic warm-up prior to squatting.

This was great when we were in school, the purpose was to give the students physical activity and to run off some energy, worked great! Served the purpose!

Ready to get started on a workout plan, but not sure you’ll be able to do it on your own? Find a workout buddy! Most people seem to enjoy a little social interaction while working out -not to mention a little friendly competition – to keep them motivated.
