Boot Camp Leawood – The HCG Diet WILL make you fatter

That’s right! The HCG diet is ultimately going to increase the amount of fat on your body. There is a reason it sounds too good to be true. Because it is! You see, the HCG diet is like robbing a bank to make money. Like any get rich quick, lose weight quick SCHEME, IT DOES NOT WORK!!

OK, so what is the HCG Diet?

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone produced during pregnancy. This hormone provides the growing fetus nutrients by ensuring there are calories available no matter what the current caloric intake of the mother.

Recently, weight loss doctors have started selling the HCG diet, claiming the hormone will burn fat mainly in the hips, thighs, and stomach… Again more crap! You will not lose weight in certain places and spare it in others because of this hormone (or any other hormone for that matter). You will lose weight in the oppostie fashion you gained it. If you gain it in your stomach first, you will lose it there last. This is called human biology.

The diet consists of HCG, a 500 calorie diet, and a recommendation to NOT exercise. How anyone goes for this CRAP is beyond me. So let me get this straight… I am going to take a hormone which no one knows the long term effects of, I am going to starve myself, and I shouldn’t exercise. REALLY?!?!?!? WHO does this?

Basically what these QUACKS (the doctors selling this epidemic) are selling is anorexia. You could take monkey urine and lose weight at 500 calories a day. The HCG is not why you will lose weight.

This is a starvation diet that will ultimately FAIL you.

See, the problem is you are going to lose a ton of weight, but more than half of it is going to come from lean tissue. Lean tissue is ultimately what drives metabolism. They claim the hormone spares lean tissue… This is Crap! You can take the most anabolic steriod known to man, and on a starvation diet you are going to lose lean tissue.

Human biology does not care what hormone is in your body.

We have the same survival mechanisms we had 10,000 years ago. At the end of the day your body is going to conserve energy unless you tell it differently. How do you do that?

Feed it constantly and proactively build lean tissue.

The HCG diet is the exact opposite of this. What are you going to do after having followed it for 40 days (besides gain all of your weight back and then some, of course)?  Every pound of lean tissue you lose accounts to a decrease in metabolism of 50 calories a day. Lose 20 pounds, I guarantee 10 of it is muscle.

What’s even worse is the fact that the majority of clients following this diet are females. Prescribing this diet to a female should be a crime punishable with jail time.

The HCG diet is a huge injustice to a female.

Females already have a low metabolism. This is why it is so much harder for famales to lose weight and keep it off. Males burn close to 1,000 more calories a day than a female.

The HCG Diet will sabotage the females’ weight loss goals and ultimately increase the amount of fat tissue on her body.

Nothing easy is worth your time or energy. If it’s easy it’s too good to be true.

Weight loss should be left to the experts, nutritionists and exercise physiologists that have spent years/decades honing their craft.

Doctors have one class through all of their schooling that covers basic human nutrition.

At the end of the day, what has always worked and still works is a healthy diet and being active. There ARE NO quick fixes in life.

Anything worth having takes time and hard work.
